For instance, if one of my super-handy uncles is willing to build me a bar I can cover with linens and decorate for cheaper than $69 (cost to rent) I might as well do that and then sell it to some Frat House up at UVM. Just a thought...
I also need to set up a meeting with our caterer in the next month or so. Gabriel has expressed his desire to have input on food-- which I am game for. We are thinking BBQ style (pulled pork is his favorite food) and then pot-lucked hors d'oeuvres.
And here comes my anxiety... One thing at a time. I will feel better with a deposit down on the tent-- after that it's all in the details.

Good girl on the excel! I think pot lucked hors d'oeuvres are brilliant. So many guests coming, so much family, and wonderful cooks...why not share?
ReplyDeleteThere are evidently some awesome wedding auction sites, meant for brides on budgets grabbing stuff from other recent brides. You can off set costs by selling back lanterns, bars, even dresses. I'll start looking into some. I know Julie used one.
Once the big rentals are done you will feel better. After we booked our venue, which includes the catering and DJ, everything calmed down for me. So once you lock down some of the big stuff you will feel the relief and get to focus on the fun stuff. The decor and the DRESSES, and all of those smaller touches. You're doing great. Just do it one step at a time. You have a whole year!
